My transition into Smart Cities is not a traditional built environment or engineering path. Coming from an innovation background, I moved into the Smart Cities space seeing the opportunity to utilise technology for good. I have run previous businesses in the innovation space including an electrical manufacturing company. Coming into the space has been a challenging having to learn the intricacies of road management, and the depth of engineering to create our built environment. I have learnt a lot very fast but most importantly I have learnt in my previous consulting experience to surround yourself with experts.
1. Digitisation of analogue assets
2. data pooling with like cities for better predictions
3. acceptance of small things for Smart Cities (not every facet of Smart Cities is scary or going to change the world for everybody, but it doesn't make it any less necessary).
itus is a cloud-enabled Smart platform that facilitates connectivity of enterprise-scale infrastructure for tomorrow’s world. itus' platform provides real time updates on analogue and digital assets, including established IoT devices. Users can view their insights through our easy to use platform or we can connect through API to their existing platforms.
Innovation is my heart song and I actively encourage innovation in those and mentor in this space. A rising tide lifts all boats, and we cannot change the world on our own.
